Operations

Dredging.

Seabed dredging with grab and suction methods down to 18 metres depth, for harbours, quayside, and larger areas.

Methods

Two methods, one purpose.

Avannaq dredges seabed in harbours, at quaysides, and across larger areas. The work is carried out using two different methods, chosen based on the nature of the task, seabed conditions, and precision requirements.

Grab

Grab dredging is performed using a grab mounted on a crane, which lifts bed material and transports it away to an agreed location. Well-suited for work in harbours, at quaysides, and in confined areas where controlled, point-specific dredging is needed under varying seabed conditions.

Suction dredging

Suction dredging is performed by suctioning seabed material through a pipe-and-pump system down to 18 metres depth. Used for the uptake of sand, silt, and other loose sediment, and well-suited for larger areas and continuous dredging. The material is unloaded by excavator to a fill area.
